Morro Bay Planning Commission will hear a proposal January 15 to build a a 3-story 83 room hotel at 233 Atascadero in Morro Bay. That is the nw corner of Highway 1 and SR 41 next to the overpass. The property is across the street from two existing hotels. The hearing would be a conceptual review only on the vacant 2 acre site. The site is owned by the Gambril family, local developers.
If the project moves forward Morro Bay would have around 1000 hotel rooms.Hotel occupancy rates have been trending higher in recent reports.
