Three vie for Gubler’s seat
Collins, Nelsen run unopposed in Visalia City Council election
Three candidates will vie for the seat being vacated by Warren Gubler in the Visalia City Council election this November. The county finalized the ballot listings this week.
In a surprise, two incumbents who it appeared would face opposition – will not. Instead, they will run unopposed as the challengers who had filed nomination papers did not finalize all the paperwork to make it on the ballot for seats held by Steve Nelson (District 5) as well as Greg Collins (District 4).
The open seat does have three candidates that voters in District 3 will decide the winner. Running are Brian Poochigain, a logistics supervisor, Steve Woods, Instructional Technology Specialist and Merritt Wiseman, a Community Advocate and “Mom”
