Tulare Co property values climb in 2018

The Tulare County Assessor has released a report for 2018 showing the county’s assessed value climbed around 5% in 2018 due to strong economic growth and a robust housing market.

Visalia city saw a 6% increase while tiny Woodlake saw the highest city growth rate in the county at nearly 7%. In the ag sector pistachios topped the value increase of all crops based on new plantings.

In a related matter Visalia new homes construction is on a roll, higher this year than the past two years. Construction  Monitor reports Visalia homebuilders have taken out  permits to build 182 new homes to date this year, up from 151 on the same date in 2018 and 120 on this date in 2017.We are double thee pace we saw back in 2013 when just 95 new homes were permitted on this date that year.
