Current Community Development Director with the County Greg Gatzka has been named the new Corcoran City Manager, staff at the city confirm. “Council reported the matter out of closed session at this week’s city council meeting” says Kevin Tromberg, Corcoran Community Development Director.”We’ve been told Greg will start June 21.”Asked about the news, Gatzka says he has tendered his resignation with the county as of this week after 25 years with Kings County. “Corcoran has plenty of development possibilities and I look forward to helping make things happen” he says.
Gatzka says he is proud of his long service, noting that the department is no longer a drag on the county general fund with development fees and other regular income making the department self-sustaining.
He says the department will be in good hands with Assistant Director Chuck Kinney having logged 22 years himself.
