December 1,2018-
Central Sierra ski resort China Peak is opening this week. Here’s their announcement after several days of snow and cold temps are now adding up to some 20 inches.
Saturday, December 1, 6:30 AM … OPENING DAY!
Come up and celebrate the fresh snow and earliest opening since 2010! Skies are cloudy with cool with temps in the high teens to low 20s, warming into the 30s. The forecast calls light snow today; with these cold temps it will be light powder for sure. We’ll have our two most popular lifts, Chairs 1 and 2 (our new quad) open with terrain from top to bottom plus the beginner area and our moving carpet. You’ll find a combination of groomed runs as well as fresh powder.
REMEMBER: It’s early season, coverage is generally good but there is not yet enough snow all over so stay only on open runs and ski and ride with care and common sense. If you wish to find fresh powder it’s best to do so on designated runs that are not groomed today. In any event remember it’s only December 1 and we’ve had a few feet of snow.
We will be open weekends until December 15 then expect to open daily. Lift tickets prices this weekend at the window will be the same as on line prices, this weekend only!
