The Mangano brothers – Andy and Craig are well known locally as one of the largest home building companies and a busy commercial developer. Today their focus is on the Central Coast in San Luis Obispo. This year Andy is the busiest home builder in that city renown for slow growth. In the past 8 years SLO city has permitted an average of under 20 new single family homes a year (Visalia will do 400 sf homes this year). In 2013 Andy has shattered the SLO trend by himself building around 40 new homes in one subdivision. Demand is strong after years of no new supply. Meanwhile Craig is completing a 2 story Downtown SLO mixed-used project on MarshSt with retail on the ground floor. Sound familiar? That is what he did on Main Street in Visalia across from the movie theater. Craig says there is second Downtown SOL mixed-use project in the works but nothing in Visalia.
