Sports Authority Closing SLO Store

Sports Authority has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy after missing a $20 million interest payment in January.The Colorado-based company said it has $1.1 billion in debt. The sporting goods retailer announced it will also close 140 of its 463 stores. The San Luis Obispo store on Madonna is on the company list filed March 2 with the bankruptcy court as are stores in Ventura and Bakersfield. Nineteen are in California. The stores will have a “everything must go” sale.
