SLO County Jobless Rate Falls To 6-Year Low

Screen Shot 2014-05-16 at 2.37.11 PMThe unemployment rate in the San Luis Obispo County was 5.2 percent in April 2014, down from a revised 6.1 percent in March 2014, and below the year-ago estimate of 6.3 percent. This compares with an unadjusted unemployment rate of 7.3 percent for California and 5.9 percent for the nation during the same period.
The 5.2 percent rate is the lowest  in SLO County  since May 2008  – before the Great Recession.
The current report says in April there were 1400 more nonfarm jobs than there were a year ago.The report says the county’s labor force has declined by almost 1% in the past year.
