Airport Traffic Up 11%

Screen Shot 2015-06-06 at 7.04.29 AMSLO Airport GM Kevin Bumen says as of September 1st 2015 the airport will have 10 daily flights (3 – SFO, 4 – LAX, 3 – PHX); as a result of the conference and additional meeting SLO was able to gain back two of those flights; service development is continuing to be pursued from Denver,Seattle, Sacramento, Portland, and Salt Lake City; SBP is doing better than most regional airports- 2014 passengers up 11.2% at 302,652 from previous year; New Terminal Design will start of construction in fall 2015.

Los Osos Cuts Water Use 38%

It probably comes as no surprise that July is typically the highest water production month of the year in Los Osos. What may come as a surprise is that the heat didn’t stop you from conserving HUGE amounts of water! July numbers are in, and LOCSD customers conserved 38.4% compared to water usage in 2014. Compare that to 2013 (per the governor’s executive order) and the town saved 43.26%!

Tourism Up in SLO City

San Luis Obispo overnight visitors dropped an additional 10% in the till in July compared to last year as hotel RevPAR increased 10.1% even though occupancy rose only 0.1%. RevPAR increased from $126 through July 2014 to $139.29 this July. Meanwhile the city’s bed tax through June 2015 has also increased about 10%.
