Like a switch turning on and off- our old buddy the Pacific High “blob” is back this week off the California coast shunting new storms to our north after it allowed 9 Atmospheric River events to soak the state from top to bottom for the past three weeks. Suddenly it’s all quite and the next two weeks looks very dry – at least until the first week of February. Then at least a couple of stormy events may re-wet a soggy California.
Here are precipitation totals for the next week-till Jan 27. Ag forecaster on This Week in Agribusiness predicts a dry early February for California in this graphic.
