D.R. Horton, the Texas-based home builder, plans a 456 home subdivision that wraps around the southwest part of Farmersville, by far the largest new home project in this suburb of Visalia.The firm, with 7 projects in Visalia, is the largest home builder in the US. The sprawling project covers 93 acres and touches both Farmersville Blvd and Visalia Road (Walnut).
Planner Karl Schoettler says the development is under environmental review by the city. The project also features two parks containing a total of 5.2 acres, as well as an open space corridor along the portion of Deep Creek that traverses the site. The project will also dedicate a 3.1-acre site for expansion of the City’s existing Public Works facility (on Farmersville Boulevard).DR Horton is the first national builder to site a subdivision in Farmersville, just 2 plus miles from several other company subdivisions located in eastern Visalia.
