Sequoia Gateway has already attracted a planned Valley Children’s Hospital clinic to be part of the project – what would be a multi-phase 725,000 square foot development. The City of Visalia has yet to approve a planned connection to the center from the city wastewater treatment plant across 99.

Meanwhile Sequoia Gateway owners Bill Travis and Fred Ruiz are marketing 83 acres for regional commercial use this summer, a planned future phase adjacent to the smaller highway commercial center.

Developers had estimated Sequoia Gateway would create more than 2,000 jobs and $17 million in annual tax revenue.

To be located at the southeast corner of Caldwell Avenue and Highway 99, Sequoia Gateway is to be built in phases over the next eight to ten years they announced in late 2018.

The first phase includes a Valley Children’s specialty care center, as well as gas stations and fast food restaurants.Phase two is to include hotels, retail stores, and a visitor’s center.
