Rainfall Predictions For Early March Exciting

March 1,2016-

The latest rainfall prediction totals for the first 10 days of March are exciting with many areas expected to get  6 inches and more in the foothills and mountains. Central Coast could see 6 to 8 inches. High Sierra total in the Tulare County mountains could reach 12 inches. Yowza!!

Here is what Central Coast forecaster John Lindsey says today. ” A secondary low pressure system will move into the Central Coast on the heels of Sunday’s storm on Monday for anotherround of heavy rain, mountain snow, and gale-force southerly winds, although it probably won’t be as strong as the previous system.

More rain is expected next Tuesday and Wednesday. Overall, between 2 and 6 inches of rain could accumulate by Wednesday. During this period, heavy snow is expected across the Sierra Nevada above 5,500 feet.

The longer-range models continue to suggest the active pattern will continue through second week of March as the storm door swings wide open.”
