The City of Visalia and the National Park Service will apply for $4.25 million in state monies to build a new 5000sf transit center at Lodgepole in Sequoia Park. The complex would help expand transit service to and from the park as well as within Sequoia Park as officials look to boost tourism without the pollution and congestion of more cars.
The transit center will encourage the expansion the Sequoia Shuttle bus service from Visalia that offers roundtrip rides to the park for $15.The service is in its 7th year.Once you reach Lodgepole there are 4 in-park shuttles that take you to popular destinations the Giant Forest area. The bus service operates in the summer months when the majority of visitors come to the park from around the world.
