Tioga Pass Opens Today
The Tioga Road will open on Thursday, June 29, 2017, at 8 am, conditions permitting says the NPS. The highway last opened this late in the season in 1995 when it opened on June 30.
Yosemite Backcountry Camps Will Not Open This Year
Operators of high sierra camps in Yosemite say they will not open this year due to the record snowpack . Both High Serra Camp and White Wolf Lodge will stay shuttered .Meanwhile the backcountry camp in Sequoia, Bearpaw Meadow , 11 mils east of Crescent Meadow is now open for summer.
