As of July 1 Californians are paying 6 cents less to the state for every gallon of gas. But don’t look for a 6 cent saving at the pump even though gasoline prices are trending down. In the past few days gas has gone down only about 1 cent. California’s lowest price is around $2.81 in the Sacramento area.
State Board of Equalization announced that California’s excise tax on gasoline will decrease by six cents per gallon, from 36 cents to 30 cents per gallon, beginning July 1, 2015.
