Brown Says Ruling On HS Rail Will Be Overcome
“Governor Brown was questioned by reporters at the Lake Tahoe Summit on Monday where he said, “It’s not a setback”
He said the ruling “didn’t stop our spending, so we’re continuing. As we speak we’re spending money, we’re moving ahead.”…
Brown said the ruling “didn’t stop anything … It raises some questions, and I think they’ll be answered within that judge’s framework.”…
“We have to take bold steps,” Brown said. “I think we’re well on our way. If you read that decision carefully, there’s a lot of room for interpretation, and I think the outcome will be positive.”
Citrus Greening Stunts Florida OJ Crop

“Elizabeth Steger, an independent citrus consultant whose estimates are closely followed by orange-juice traders, said Florida will likely produce 130 million 90-pound boxes of oranges in the season that begins in October. Her estimate is 2.5% below Florida’s orange output this season, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.”
This year’s coming crop would be stunted due the presence of citrus greening disease spread by Asian Citrus Psyllid. The bug but not the disease has been found in California citrus groves.
