SLO jobless rate keeps falling

The unemployment rate in the San Luis Obispo County was 2.4 percent in December 2022, down from a revised 2.8 percent in November 2022, and below the year-ago estimate of 3.3 percent. This compares with an unadjusted unemployment rate of 3.7 percent for California and 3.3 percent for the nation during the same period.

A closer look shows the county labor force increased from 135,600 in December 2021 to 136,100 in December 22. While there were more people available for work the number of people without jobs went from 4400 in December 2021 to 3300 in December 2022.

SLO County’s lowest jobless rate was seen last May at 2.1 %
