Kaweah Health will expand mental health hospital on Akers
The California Department Health announced that Kaweah Health will receive $8.78 million to add a new 8600sf, 22-bed wing at their Mental Health hospital on Akers in Visalia.The new wing will serve teen and children with psychiatric care. The new complex should be open by 2025. “We’re grateful for the state grant to expand much needed mental health services in the County” said Marc Mertz, Chief Strategy Officer.
Kaweah Health closes Transitional Care Center on Court St
Kaweah Health’s Transitional Care Center on Court St has been close. Transitional Care provides patients that have had an illness or injury with a place to receive continued skilled nursing care after leaving the hospital. All of the remaining patients either transferred home to family members or to other facilities say staff. The district still offers a Skilled Nursing Facility at Kaweah Health
Kaweah Health plans Crisis Stabilization Unit
A Child and Adolescent Crisis Stabilization Unit is being planed by Kaweah Health in North Visalia. The hospital is under contract to buy the Boy Scouts building in north Visalia. A staff report says the building is ideal, as is the location for this CSU. We hope to close after the first of the year and get started with permitting for the renovations.Located in North Visalia submarket, 230 NW 3rd Avenue was built in 2007 and consists of 5,012± square feet of professional o ce space constructed on 18,295± square feet of land.
New Mental Health Wellness Center
Kaweah Health’s new Mental Wellness Center is targeting opening in February 2023 at 301 Noble Ave In Visalia.
