Monsoon activity should help Arizona- Colorado drought
Storms in Arizona, Utah and Colorado should being good rainfall in this dry part of the country in the next few weeks.The monsoon season is said to be active one this year. Arizona’s monsoon season begins in June and continues through September.
NPR reports that Arizona is experiencing its worst drought in 1,200 years, but in one place there’s too much water. Hundreds of homes in Flagstaff are threatened by brief monsoon thunderstorms on wildfire burn scars.
NOAA predicts grim precip forecast for December through February
NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center forecast for this winter season is a grim one when ti comes to precipitation. The seasonal forecast suggest below average rain across the southern tier of the US including most of California for the typical rainy months of December through February.
