Dry outlook into April ?

March 27,2020

Looks like a shift to a drier pattern for California going forward after a wet March through the 25th.The pattern shift brings back that familiar high-pressure block  that makes it tougher for storms to push into the state.  In April the jet stream will likely be weaker as well. The San Joaquin water index is 54% of average today. The Porterville Recorder reports today that the “rainfall total at Porterville Municipal Airport for Sunday night’s storm that went into Monday morning measured at .78 inches, pushing the rainfall total to about 5 inches of rain. That’s still well below the average of about nine inches for this time of year.”
