Visalia new home construction up 24%
Visalia new home construction is up 24% through November with permits issued for 576 homes vs 466 in the same time in 2018.The busiest builder in town is homegrown San Joaquin Valley Homes with 171 homes, nearly a third of the total.
Family Healthcare Network working on plans Downtown
Clinic operator Family Healthcare Network(FHCN) is working on plans for more Downtown facilities say sources. They have purchased their corporate headquarters on Garden and Center, the old Ford dealership building. Meanwhile the City of Visalia has declared their parking lot at Garden and Main surplus and FHCN has expressed interest in buying it for parking. Meanwhile the healthcare nonprofit may be looking at other space in the Downtown.A spokesperson says they are doing their due diligence and will announce whatever plan moves forward.
Simply7 Brewing Co plans East Visalia location
JR Sharon is is in the process of remodeling 609 E Main St to accommodate three businesses in the 10,000sf building.The latest one is SIMPLY7 BREWING CO; MICRO BREWERY & TASTING ROOM. The brewery needs a conditional use permit from the city.Also at this site is the Chicken Shack restaurant and and a bike store, Sierra Bicycle Werks.
Human Bean Coffee Drive-thru ready to open in Visalia – now eyes Tulare
Ready to open at 1331 W Caldwell in Visalia Human Bean coffee now plans a new location in Tulare at Bardsley Avenue and Mooney Boulevard according to a site plan review in Tulare. The founders opened their first drive-thru espresso stand in Ashland Oregon in 1998. Locations are franchised.

Visalia Kia to expand
Selma Automall owner Dwight Nelson operates Visalia KIA on Ben Maddox. Now he has acquired the property next door from former dealer Frank Serpa and is seeking approval to either add to his Kia dealership or bring in a new make of cars to Visalia on the acquired lot. The city planning commission is expected to give the green light to a zone change.
