Huh?  Wet weather returns in mid May!

NOAA weather models are suggesting more rain in May for California, an unusual pattern for the beginning of the traditional dry season in the “Golden State.”

Rain is predicted for Central California this Friday as well as the next, around May 16 and 17, as storms cycle into the state from the northwest.

And it could keep coming. One GFS model shows wet weather on May 10-12, on the 15 and 16th and on the 18 & 19th, on the 21st and on the 25th!

As of May 7 there is plenty of snow still in the Sierra, a big change from this time last year.

In related news, Sierra ski resorts say their skiing numbers were up 17% from the year before this season.
