Tulare: Jack in the Box headed for Bardsley and Mooney. Reps for the fast food eatery have their sights set on the southwest corner of Mooney and Bardsley in a filing the city.
Visalia: Ace Hardware eyes Orchard Supply space. An Ace Hardware franchisee is reported to be negotiating to lease the vacant Orchard Supply space – at least a part of it located at Mooney and Walnut. The store closed in October.
Visalia: Women’s clothing retailer is coming to the Visalia Mall. Cotton-On (pictured), an Australian company has a lease to move into a large space at the mall although the spot is not yet public says mall gm Richard Feder. The company has 7 brands, is located in 19 countries and sports 1,400+ stores. Valley locations include Fresno and Bakersfield.
Coalinga: Another prison goes solar. Pleasant Valley State Prison Solar Canopy Project is being proposed by the state Department of General Services . The PV carport system would be installed above an existing parking area located at the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, Pleasant Valley State Prison It includes construction of 4.34 acres of single-story, 12-foot PV carport canopies above existing parking areas. The canopies will support solar panels that will produce approximately 2,306 kW of energy.
Visalia: Self Help Enterprises and Calvans will launch a car sharing program for drivers, aimed at farmworkers in the new year.
Visalia: A new surgery center is being built. A permit has been issued for a new three-story, 56,000sf surgical center being processed but the City of Visalia at 2300 Sunnyside Ave, just off Mooney. Called Sunnyside Surgery Center the medical complex is being built by Dr. Jonathan Liu, MD.
Goshen: Pavement Recycling Systems has purchased land at the SW corner of Harvest and Rd 68 on the westside of 99 for new company office and yard. The California based company is employee owned, has a location in Bakersfield. The firm offers a full range of state-of-the art recycling solutions to reclaim, preserve and rehabilitate pavement at any stage. Goshen: Big truck stop gets permit. A permit for a 24,394sf travel center and been processed by Tulare County at Betty Dr east of 99. The permit includes a fueling station, truck wash, convenience store and garage and is valued at $3.1 million.
California Hot Springs: A proposed “spiritual camp “ is getting the OK to expand on 230 acres near the foothill town of California Hot Springs. A hearing is set for December 12 in front of the Tulare County Planning Commission. The project is being proposed by Deepak Swarup.
Visalia: The City of Visalia lost a challenge to proposed rules allowing marijuana deliveries. This past week the state said they will permit marijuana deliveries anywhere in the state, even in locales like Visalia that ban cannabis. Woodlake has the only recreational dispensary in the county but Farmersville is expected to permit one – perhaps along Hwy 198 east of Visalia. The City of Farmersville has received 5 requests for the permit but just one will be permitted.
Lemoore: The City of Lemoore is moving forward with an agreement with a Fresno developer to build a multi phase industrial park along Hwy 41, south of 198. KKAL,LP could build up to a million square feet of space on the 84 acre parcel they are buying from the city for $10. The proposal says the new park could employ up to 1300.

Yosemite: Upper Yosemite National Park got good snowfall recently with 3 feet at the Tioga Pass entrance station, closing the highway for the season , and 10 feet in depth in Tuolumne Meadows.
Exeter: Oranges heading to food banks. The trade war has kept Valley oranges from reaching some markets but at least with a trade mitigation package, around 600,000 cartons of oranges are being sent to food banks with a USDA purchase according to USDA. USDA allocated $55 million for the purchase of oranges and $3.7 million for the purchase of lemons next year. The initial purchase totaled $9 million including transportation cost to a myriad of outlets around the country say Citrus Mutual.
