Teen store Five Below coming to Visalia

Screen Shot 2018-12-04 at 6.38.15 AMRetailer Five Below has signed a lease for 9330 square feet of space at the Dick’s Sporting Goods-anchored shopping center on  Mooney and Caldwell in Visalia.

Five Below, an American publicly held chain of discount stores sells products to their target customers – children, adolescents, teens, and females. Stores are typically located in strip malls as opposed to standing alone. They advertise “you can let go & have fun while finding the coolest stuff for $5 or less” in over 750 stores and online at fivebelow.com. This the chain’s first store in the Valley with the closest location in Santa Maria.

The existing tenant, Patio Place is expect to leave by the new year.

Starbucks plans 11th Visalia location

Starbucks is planning its 11th full-service location in Visalia with a second store to be located along Riggin in north Visalia. On December 10 the city planning commission will hear a request for a conditional-use permit for a 2633sf Starbucks with a drive-thru. The coffee shop will be on the the northeast corner of Mooney 

and Riggin on land owned by the Shannon family. The Shannons have transformed their former farm into an suburban hub with  both residential and commercial uses including the development across the corner from this store of a retail strip center. The far north part of the city has been growing quickly in the past few years with hundreds of new rooftops. Starbucks also has a location at Riggin and Dinuba Hwy.

Blood bank heading for Caldwell Ave

Central California Blood Center wants to establish a blood bank within an existing 4,660 sq. ft. building in the C-R (Regional Commercial) Zone. The project site is located at 2245 W. Caldwell Avenue. The city planning commission will the hear the application December 10. The location was the former Central Valley Community Bank site that closed this Spring.
