Proposition 6 on the California ballot this week went down to defeat by a 55% to 45 % vote according to the latest statewide numbers. The proposition if it had ben approved would have repealed the most recent gas tax increase implemented last November Interior counties mostly approved the repeal but the more populated coastal counties, where gridlock is a way of life, prevailed. Some urban counties like Alameda voted 73% ‘No’ while Valley-based Kings County voted ‘Yes’ on 6 by an emphatic 61%.
