Marymount Considers University Campus In Visalia

Screen Shot 2014-10-29 at 12.14.49 PMMarymount California University is a liberal arts institution offering associate, bachelor’s and master’s degrees and serving students in three California communities: Palos Verdes and San Pedro in Los Angeles County and Lucerne in Lake County.

Now the private college, on a new mission to establish multi-site campuses in the state is looking at a location in the San Joaquin Valley, in Visalia, a city of 125,000 where only Fresno Pacific offers limited upper level classes.

The county has some 63% Hispanic population with few local higher education opportunities.

Marymount is a 4 year and graduate level college – an independent, Catholic, coeducational, and residential university. The college’ main campus is located along the coastline of Rancho Palos Verdes, California on 26 acres.The institution is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Senior Colleges and Universities of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
