Fresno State has been granted an additional 400 full-time student enrollment spots for 2014-15, President Joseph I. Castro announced today.

Castro had requested funding for 800 new spots from the California State University system, which had requests from all 23 campuses to add enrollment.

This is very good news for Fresno State,” Castro said. “It will allow the university to continue growing to meet the strong demand from students in the Valley and beyond.

“Even though we certainly could have used additional enrollment spots, we are pleased that more students will have the opportunity to attend next year,” he said.

Fresno State had a record-high fall enrollment of 23,060, which includes full- and part-time students. It is expected that in 2014-15, the university will be able to accommodate 400-500 new students.
