Mooney To Get Large Shoe Chain Next To ToysRUs
San Jose-based Shoe Palace will open a large new store on mid Mooney in 2015 next toToysRUs. A plan filed with city this week shows the demo of the existing office buildings just south of the toy store and a new 11,100sf building that will replace it. The fast growing company specializes in athletic footwear.They are opening as well in San Luis Obispo. The civil work is being done by Fresno’s Lars Anderson.
Collins Appeals Plaza Drive Project In Visalia
Visalia City Council member Greg Collins has appealed the recent Planning Commission approval of a mixed-use development on Plaza Drive.“It turns out a council member can make an appeal – but when it comes back to the council to be heard – I can’t vote.”
Collins says the project offers” both small business spaces and residential units – developments we have an abundance of elsewhere in town we are trying to fill.”The Square at Plaza Drive is a 25-acre plan that includes a 65-room hotel, 10 office buildings, a gas station-convenience store complex and 23 townhouses.
The office buildings would include a three-story building with retail shops on the first floor, office space on the second and 28 apartments — or “executive lofts” — on the third floor.
Main Street To See New Hamburger Restaurant
What was Mike’s Cameras in Downtown Visalia will become a gourmet hamburger restaurant says architect Larry Lewis who is working on the remodel of the place at 105 E. Main.No name has been settled on.
Restauranteurs James and Michelle Jessen who own Tazzarria will open their fourth eatery in town by next Spring. Mike’s Camera closed in July after being in business since 1977.The Jessens have purchased the building.
