Model Says Cold Storm Coming This Weekend

Friday/Saturday's Cold Storm Could Offer Fresno Almost An Inch Of Rain

Here is what the NWS /Hanford says today about this coming weekend's cold
storm that could bring some snow to the 4000 ft level. The news release
references the model GFS used to predict future rainfall.

"BUT THE NEW 06Z RUN GIVES YOSEMITE VALLEY 1.64 INCH WITH
NEARLY ALL FALLING BY 12Z /0500 PDT/ SATURDAY. THE NEW GFS
ALSO GIVES FRESNO 0.89 INCH OF RAIN. /THE 22/00Z RUN HAD GIVEN
FRESNO 0.45 INCH./ HOWEVER...IT MUST BE NOTED THAT INITIALLY
THE MODELS HAD FORECAST MEASURABLE RAINFALL WITH TUESDAY/S
SYSTEM BUT PROVED TO HAVE GREATLY OVERFORECAST THE STORM
STRENGTH. THEREFORE..WILL HOLD OFF ON ANY WINTER HEADLINES
AT THIS TIME."
Here is the model for Saturday.
